Jefferson Davis Monument
This 351 foot concrete obelisk was constructed to honor Jefferson Davis; the President of the Confederacy during the Civil War. The monument is located at the site of Davis’s birth. An elevator ascends to an observation room for a panoramic view. There is a visitor center, a gift shop, a playground and a picnic area on the grounds.
